Reiki Gentle, traditional healing method from Japan
Written reference was first made to the Reiki technique around 5000 years ago. Upon its rediscovery by the Japanese monk Dr Mikao Usui at the beginning of the 19th century, however, Reiki had all but slipped into oblivion. The technique later made its way to Europe.
In Japanese, ‘rei’ means universe and ‘ki’ is energy. During a Reiki session, the therapist restores harmony to your body and mind through gentle touches, laying on of hands or without touching by being a channel for the universe’s energy.
Reiki is principally used for physical pain, but can also have a positive impact on your emotional and mental well-being.
